Walking tours of Edinburgh

We offer two engaging walking tours of the most colourful and historical parts of Edinburgh.

If you are in Edinburgh only for a day, we recommend the Old Town tour, after which you can visit Edinburgh Castle. On a longer visit? The New Town tour is a good option on your second or third day.

New in town? Become familiar with your new home! The New Town tour is particularly useful as it takes you along part of the Water of Leith Walkway - a nature walk in the heart of Edinburgh popular with locals.

The Old Town Tour

The Royal Mile, Edinburgh

Breathe pure Scottish history as you walk on the cobblestones of the Old Town!

We will go down the famous Royal Mile, stopping by Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, and hear sinister stories of the old street of Grassmarket. We will also visit the historical churchyard of Greyfriars and have a coffee break at the cafe where Harry Potter was born!

BONUS! Join the hundred-strong Dumbledore's Army - no magic skills required (or golden Galleons issued)!

St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh

We suggest you visit Edinburgh Castle or the Palace of Holyroodhouse after this tour.

Dean Village, Edinburgh

Discover a different side of Edinburgh away from the crowds of the Old Town and learn about Scotland's geniuses

The walk through New Town will begin with with a gentle ascent to Calton Hill, which offers handsome views of the city, the Firth of Forth and Arthur's Seat. Leaving behind majestic streets trodden by the great minds of the Scottish Enlightenment, we will stroll on the quiet, shaded banks of the Water of Leith and the picturesque lanes of the old Dean Village. This is a good familiarisation tour for new residents of Edinburgh.
